I have been in full swing making Valentines cards, and am having so much fun in the process. I had found this stamp set by Recollections at Michaels and knew right away that I wanted to cut out two little birds and put them in a tree. Let me say once I started using my Cindy Loo cartridge, I can't seem to stop, I love it. So, I cut out the frame, tree, and love birds. I had trouble deciding what to use in the background of the frame until I stumbled across this cute sunshine paper by Colorbok in the Sweet Home paper pack. It is perfect. I used my Stampin Up Regal Rose ink to stamp "Love Birds" and finished it off with a peice of scrap ribbon I had with little hearts on it. At this point, I felt that it was pretty cute, but needed something else, so I outlined the frame using a white gel pen (also a new fav tool). We are always looking for fun things we can do as a family. I found an exhibit at the Heard Museum in McKinney, Texas, called Dinosaurs Live. It was really neat, life size dinosaurs on a nature trail. Dallas was a little uneasy at first, but once he realized that they were not real, he really liked it. This also gave me a chance to use my Dinosaur Tracks cartridge, which I have had for over a year. I just love how I was able to create everything, the dinosaurs, the palm trees, and the mountains with the same cartridge. I also used my cuttlebug to give the dinosaurs some texture and really make them come alive. I love to mix blue and brown together, it is a classic color duo that, I think, never goes out of style. I wanted to use my Freshly Picked cricut cartridge because I have had it forever and have never used it, so I challenged myself to pick a cut from it. I dressed it up with some rhinestones and a new stamp. The stamp is actually a christmas/holiday stamp set, but I though it worked perfect for this card.

It is a cute birthday card. I cut the cupcake using Simply Charmed and embossed the second layer using my cuttlebug (you can't see it very well, but it's there). Then I put it all together and stamped "celebrate!" at the bottom.

I have made a handful of cards and I am loving it. I had this stamp set by TPC Studio called "Cupcakes" and I had not used it yet, so I decided to do something with it. This is also the first time I have used my Cricut Fast Food Cartridge. I cut the cup out of glitter paper to make it look like glass, and I love how it turned out.

I wanted to test out my skills using the Cricut Craft Room. So, I made a card using the cowboy image from the Best of 2009 cartridge. To turn it into a card, I made a copy of the image, turned it upside down, then used the weld feature to attach the two peices, then cut it out. I cut the layer peice for only one side of the image to attach to the front of the card. I used a quote from the cheery chat collection from Stampin Up, and stamped it with chocolate chip ink also from Stampin Up. I haven't used my stamps in quite a long time, but I have enjoyed dusting them off and using them again. I ended up giving the card to my husband, for his birthday. I had choosen the colors of brown and blue because all three of us have boots that are the same colors. We used them in our photo shoot in November 2011. You can see the image below.
